My name is Tom Wren and I am here to tell you a story that might sound familiar.

Maybe like you, I was attracted to a career in sales by the idea that my effort and performance would be rewarded in kind. Not just a limited salary or hourly wage, but real control over my paycheck destiny.

My excitement poured out in a fervor energy in that first sales position. Within 3 months I reached the top of the leaderboard, out-booking most of my peers. After 18 months I was the golden boy of the UK region. I was on top of the world!

I soon progressed into senior roles and took on more opportunities and responsibility. Soon I felt stretched and overwhelmed. I pushed and fought (often with myself) as I equated more sales to MORE work. I was already at 60+ hours and near-constant travel. I could not work any more hours. Something had to give.

Burnout followed…and worse for me personally, a severe underlying (then dormant) disease flared and led to inevitable hospitalization and many treatments that ground me to a literal standstill.

At 25 years old, Doctors told me,
“Tom, you really ought to find a career where stress is not part of the job. Sales is not for you.”

But I loved sales and could not go back to a salary only position. I had to find a way to stay in sales without overworking and avoiding all the stress.

For years I had thought that “The only way to sell more, was to work more.” I set out to find out if you could become so efficient at sales and converting, you could work less and sell more.

Driven by my love for selling and my quite limited health restrictions, I set off on a deep discovery of sales, of life and of myself. For the next several years, I read every book on sales I could get my hands on, attended training, courses, and programs, and hired the best sales coaches. I became a student of selling and proficiency.

I quickly learned that many of the fast results ‘10X’ and ‘Hustle Harder’ slogans were not providing substantive real-world methodologies.

Over time, I found the most powerful selling methods and through much trial and error, integrated them into my selling system, along with a few of my own proven ideas and experiences.

I did not stop there though. I was determined to learn about myself and improve my physical stamina. So while traveling to more than 44 countries, I:

I’ve gone deep into the studies of energy and worked with countless students and teachers to better understand energy in the world for others and for myself. All with the aim to improve myself, my discipline, my focus and my abilities.

Through all of this I’ve faced exhaustion, frustration, anger, sadness, tens of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours…oh and so so many dead ends.

But I learned…I did not need to do exactly what they did to get what they have/realized. I learned that the best way to get what I want was to do it in alignment with my core self.
